Hi everyone,
Some advice needed!

I moved into this flat last April 2017.
I am leaving next month and there are 2 small tears in the Lino flooring in the kitchen.
So the facts

- the Lino was new when moving in
- it is not glued down
- the landlord did not provide kitchen fixtures - therefore appliances had to be pushed over the floor as there is counters over where the appliances go and units either side so the fridge for example had to pushed in causing there two very small tears
- I have stuck the tears back down so you can only see the line and they are not massively
Visable

So I'm debating whether this is wear and tear or damage, due to the fact that I have been advised that the flooring is not suitable for a kitchen, being so thin and not stuck down, especially when appliances weren't in the flat beforehand.

Any opinions welcome please!

Your mitigating factors or extenuating circumstances don't change the fact that something has been damaged and the damage is beyond fair wear and tear.

However... have you been asked yet? It seems like you're lining up your ducks... always a good thing. It may not even be brought-up. You don't have to highlight it. I mean, it may not be moral... but is it true.

As a Landlord, what frustrates me is when something is damaged to the point where I need to get a professional in, or I need to go out and start looking for replacement gear. I want an easy life. That is troublesome (for me).
