When using Form 4 for a rent increase for an assured shorthold tenancy (long past initial6 month  term),  do you have to state the same day of the month as the start date of the original tenancy greement?
Eg agreement signed 25 April 2012, so  new rent needs to start from 25 June 2023?

I think I've read this somewhere  but I may be confusing it with the date you need to use on a Section 21 notice...

Asking as we later agreed for the tenants to pay on the 1st of the following month (their preference), we dont have this in writing, just a few years worth of bank payments.

So should we put new rent due from 25th (in line with original agreement), or 1st (in line with current payment date)?

Or doesn't it matter?

The rent due date is the important date.
The date the rent actually gets paid isn't important for this purpose.

i just redid the whole tenancy when i increased the rent with my tenant.
So new contract with new terms, and new checks to ensure all paperwork is in order.
May not suit you but i want to be assured that I have done everything right from my end.
