Hi,

I am a 3rd year Product Design student in Cardiff Metropolitan University currently doing a project on 'Condensation within our homes'. Focusing to reduce the excess condensation inside houses and minimizing the risk of mould growth. Also, considering different factors such as structural damages caused by excess moisture and potential health risk factors.

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who have encountered these types of problems in their home before. I'm hoping to find out how people have overcame this problem, for example with the use of dehumidifiers or simply having better air circulation through ventilation. Anything would be helpful.

Lastly, if you could spare a minute or two to take a short survey that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,yes I had a very bad problem with mould in a flat last year, the first time in nearly 20 years of renting it out.How I resolved it was by serving notice on the 2 ****wits who had lived there for 6 months.Sorted!

I think McSurvey was envisaging more technical solutions. The mechanics of your solution, though, are impressive in their own right. What I inferred, though, goes a bit beyond my realm of believability - in that the mould actually accompanied these Tenants, wherever they went, like a symbiotic relationship.

The facts speak for themselves.Clean flat.The FWs move in.Mould appears.FWs move out.Mould gone.Occam's Razor.

My tenants are clean and tidy, but condensation appears. Builders advised opening windows more often and fitting a PIV unit in the attic however it has been converted and so the PIV unit was not appropriate. Instead I had air bricks fitted in some rooms although the tenant didn't want them in bedrooms in case of a draft. Not an ideal solution but it seems to be working for the moment. Hope this helps with your research.
