My landlord is trying to scam me

 Hey all,
I could use some help on a few matters.
A month ago I rented a place in Stamford Hill and agreed with the landlord that he will call someone to clean the place, fix the doors and windows, do some plumbing for the bathroom, etc. Three weeks after ,the place looked pretty much the same and when I spoked with the landlord he told me that if am not ok with the job he did, to do it myself or call someone I know.
Now, my place is a complete mess and I need to find ASAP a reliable, fast working company to do the job. I've searched all over the internet for a maintenance company and came up with one  from my area that caught my attention, http://www.ascentps.co.uk. What I need to know is if has anyone worked with them and if they're ok ?! I do not want to repeat the same story.
If not, I would really appreciate any other suggestion of a handyman or a care company...doesn't matter as long as the job is done correctly.
Another  problem  is that  in the contract  says clearly that the landlord should bear the costs for any repairs that aren't caused by my negligence, and not only that  he refuses, but moreover  he wants to charge me for the first repair attempt.
What should I do in this case?
Thank you all, in advance for any info.

And did what exactly?

Why did he?

If there is cause for concern he is more than allowed to enter HIS property.

Perhaps the care with which you post in reflected in the care for his property and he was concerned!  ( joke just in case you get a toot on )
