I have a Shorthold Tenancy and pay in cash (because my landlord won't accept it any other way and I was really desperate) after the 6M my landlord said he would renew my tenancy (he never did) I have lived the flat he is renting for a little over a year now and always paid in cash weekly my rent £525 ( i was really desperate in my past living state to get a flat) so  I would pay weekly and though out that paid week pay him in advance for the next week he has never complained or asked me for more  I have asked him for receipts which he said he would give me later (never did) many times. recently I have been given a sec8 and a few days later a sec 21 along with a court order and a page of hes so-called "rent book" which states i haven't paid him the full amount of the rent for 46 weeks (spread throughout the year) only 10 weeks paid not only that the "rent book" states my rent is £125  i am very confused by it all .. I have a receipt with my name a date and an amount on it given by him but according to the "rent book" the receipt he gave me is not registered in the rent book provided with the court order the book holds no date or payments stated by the receipt not only that be though out my tenancy he has lied about the blocked shower drain he told me before I moved in it was "slow releasing" it turns out its blocked its not nice to see dirty water in your shower after 4 days he hasn't given me any info on my £400 deposit  no gas certificate, not even an epc certificate the list goes on i have no accsess to the boiler (no conrol over heating or hot water) and have had the electric switched off on me for 5 days during winter which i had found out the fuse was taken from the box (which i also have no control over) and have cought the land lord looking though my windows (I wouldnt really be up set over this if i never  had my teenage daughter who was asleeping on the couch at the time) to my knowledge i am the only person with a key thats what the landlord told me so why was my letters (my letters have to do though hes bussiness seeing how I am the flat above hes post office) where on my table late at night when I had returned home to a locked door after 3 days of being away. ii am not sure on what to do I have very little evidence except a few receipts and my bank statements (i always took the money out in large sums) PLEASE HELP ME

Sounds to me like you need professional leagal advice. Have you still got the original tenancy agreement? Is your deposit noted on it? Perhaps a visit to the law centre of citizens advice would be a good idea
