Hi everyone! 

I'm Fabi and I'm a third-year journalism student at the University of Westminster, currently working as a freelancer. I'm writing an article about housing license schemes in London and I was hoping you may help me to get the facts right and give me your opinion if you like.

After being approached by few landlords about the topic and hearing about their unsatisfaction and disappointment about the license schemes, I decided it was important presenting landlords' point of view on the issue.

I list here few things I'm trying to find out if anyone would like to comment on them:

- On which criteria councils impose the fee? why some of them are really low and some licenses are really expensive?

- I am trying to understand if and how many councils carry out inspections before granting the license. someone says they are 'too easy' and they won't check, someone else claims they do check before releasing it. Any opinion on that?

- some councils have minimum sizes for rooms to be rented, did anyone have a problem because of those?

- what do they do with the money raised from the licenses?

Hope someone may help me answer some of those questions, please feel free to add issues or questions I will try to answer through this small investigation.
