My personal trainer has his last mortgage payment next week, he has asked what he should do with the money he saves.
I told him to buy a flat and rent, this way he can add to his pension in 10-15yrs time.  What would you say he should do.

Is your trainer good?

Just look at his testimonials dude.  He has also coached world class squash players.  In one yes he is very good.
To be honest these days its hard to find a trainer that works to core stability and a CV mix, most go for this palitas what ever its called, i can see some use but it aint for me, thats why i like Bob, hes a mans man

Impressive for him to be in shape still at 55, that alone qualifies him as a personal trainer IMHO

Good suggestion on buying the flat. Now is a good time to be watching the market, there will be some bargains about.

I'm not sure I'd put everything into property mind. In his position he needs security (and possibly rapid liquidity) - could be worth going for some blue chip stocks and maybe some gilts or bonds too. Even splitting some off into a high interest ISA would be a good idea. The BTL would be a good income though.

I've never looked into blue chip stock. Could be interesting.

But then again, I say that about every opportunity!

He also tells me that his work pension is due and he could get a lump sum with a less annual return, he could use the lump as a nice deposit!
He like many others are in a great possition if they want to take the plunge
