Steady propertyfag simhar will come and snag ya chain if he sees this on here  :-*

For the buyer why not, i have been done before when buying a house, so the more info i can get then good, so be it.
For a seller if it sells my house who cares, i would and they will only put a few quid on the property price anyhow, so the seller dont lose anything !, IMO.

I started to look at similar 'loopholes' last year.  My conclusion was that once the property is offered to the market (by whatever means) then it constitutes 'open marketing' (a term used by Steven on 'telly).  I did this without consulting legal teams or receiving backhanders from DCLG - just used my noggin and looked at the facts.

Anyhoo, Homefinders findings (eh) have been khyboshed by Govt so their sellers will have to comply with HIPs as well.

As for the OP.  Yes i do agree with parts of the HIP.  There are still some grey areas for me to be fully convinced that they will 'speed up the process'.  But time will tell.

And by the way the cost of a HIP is not as startling as some reports (read Daily Tail and Torygraph) and they will only become more competitive once everyone settles down.
