Long story but here goes.......

I co-own a property with a pervious/ex partner which we brought in 2007. We decided to split in 2011. I decided to leave the property & she said she would stay. In doing so we decided rather than selling the property we could keep it on as we both didn't want to loose it. Therefore I have been paying (as had she) half each of the mortgage every month since.

Recently I started getting letters stating the mortgage had been defaulted a few times since I had left & not for small amounts either. So therefore I tried contacting her over the phone with no success, after trying for a week or so I decided to pop round to see her. On doing this it was found she was no longer there & had been renting the property for the last few months without me knowing.

She has moved abroad with the tenants deposit etc... Sold all of our belongings to them, I mean everything!!! The tenant who's a DSS tenant's are no longer paying the rent, I am now paying the full mortgage & arrears on the property but have been informed by the council I am not the landlord as I am not on none agreement.

I have been to seek legal advice to which it seems is going to be extremely costly... Not being the landlord where do I stand on evicting these people in person?

I need help!!! Where do I stand if I just change the locks??
