According to British Gas

From 2016 landlords must agree to reasonable tenant requests for energy efficiency improvements.

From 2018 landlords private rental properties have to meet a minimum energy efficiency standard.

Has any body else heard any thing about these ?

Hippogriff

Yes.

It's true.

Landlords won't be able to let properties with an EPC rating lower than E.

Best to not have shit(!) like this in your stock. Of course, there will be some Victorian type homes, or desirable farmhouses, cottages and suchlike, which you may not be able to do much with, realistically speaking.

Where can I find more information on this ?

To be fair my property's are C's and D's anyway  :D

We hadn't heard about these that's really interesting actually and a good idea. Although we agree it may be difficult in period properties!

It is important as Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates how energy efficient your home is using grades from A to G ('A' the most efficient grade). If you don't make an EPC available to any prospective buyer or tenant, you can be fined between £500 and £5,000 based on the rateable value of the building.

Hippogriff

Listed properties are exempt.
