I like property

« on: January 28, 2020, 04:26:42 PM »

Hi there. I donít know if anyone can help me but while my property has been rented out, the electric meter for the upstairs flat has been placed in the meter cupboard in my flat. I didnít authorise this. Neither the tenant nor the electric company sought my permission. There is no covenant between my flat and the upstairs flat to permit entry to read the meter. Can I now ask to have it removed? I have googled this till Iím absolutely blue in the face but cannot find any answers. Thank you to anyone who can help.

Rather than Google yourself to death... just do what you suggest... contact the company, explain your point of view, ask / request / demand for it to be removed, and assess how hard they're going to come back at you on this. Sometimes you might find it's easy... sometimes not... sometimes it might be worth the fight... sometimes not. Be pragmatic... assess what you're up against first. Definitive answers for something so seemingly random might be hard to come by... no, will be.
