Hi

I have a property which is split into 2 self-contained units with a shared main front door, I purchased the property in 1995 as it is but now I am wondering if I should  legitimately register the property as 2 separate flats.  at the moment council tax is being paid as 1 property ad not 2 units
Any input gratefully received

If you wish to sell these units, separately,ever,  you could do this.

Otherwise, I would say no.

When you come to sell, if the buyer is getting a mortgage, there is a probability you may have to take a kitchen out!
