Hi

A very basic question really- however would be very grateful for any thoughts please.

I stopped the phone line (used my mobile) and also did not have a tv in the property (no time/ interest in watching!) as I was not living there - now it is to be let - is it good form (for want of a better turn of phrase) to reinstate both?

the tenant hasnt asked about either but might assume they are provided... I'm happy to supply if it is "usual" practice but even happier not to if I can avoid the cost!!
many thanks

Are you saying you removed the aerial socket(s) from the house walls and / or the actual aerial on the roof? It is good form to have at least that, but usually they'd just be there?

Phone can be the full responsibility of the Tenant.

great- thanks v much

I had the house re rendered and the builders (dont go there- it  didnt end well) managed to dislodge the tv aerial so I have an aerial - it just isnt on the roof..............

I am learning!!..... albeit probably the brightest greenest shade of newbie at the moment........
many thanks

Well... if there is no aerial, I would simply ask them what their expectations are.

They might say they're Sky only. If so, they won't want an aerial. However, be prepared to stump-up the cash for installation / repair if they do... as a house should have one, really. I have had the same on a new build - the builder didn't put an aerial in (even though there were sockets in the rooms, there was just a roll of cable in the loft space) and I asked one set of Tenants, who didn't watch TV at all, and the second set said they needed it - so one was installed. It cost about £120 IIRC.

thank you very much  for that - really appreciated.
