Hi everyone,
I need a bit of advice. Our property is currently being managed by an agent, has been for three years. We have had the same tenant for the same time.
The agreement is due for renewal next month and we want to take over the management but I have been informed that there is a fee of £1000. I cannot find
anything that tells us this, we haven't signed anything apart from the tenancy agreement. Is this fee correct?

Thanks

Hippogriff

How can we know?

We don't know the terms of business that you have agreed with your Letting Agent. If you do not know where it states this, you should ask them, in the first instance, where it states this and then check whether you signed it, or not (as you believe). If they've not got it written down, nor signed, then you can probably be as polite as you want in telling them to get lost. Sound like typical LA chancers.
