We need to paint and decorate, the house is generally clean and tidy but we've chosen to sell so would like pics to look better for buyers

Current occupants have been in property 10 years and have repainted most rooms on their own but some do need a redo

Renters have been happy to have estate agent/buyer visits but have asked we not come in for extended periods of time to redecorate until they've moved as they work from home and prefers we aren't there in general as much as possible.  Unsure how else we can do this though to get pics to sell??  They aren't trying to delay the sale as have somewhere else to go to and genuinely seem happy to help other than this issue

Their request is very reasonable.

Your usage of the word "need" in the first sentence is probably slightly overstating things. Rooms needing a lick of paint won't dissuade a buyer as much as you think it will. So be patient... painting around the stuff of Others is going to be a PITA anyway... wait until you have vacant possession. That is much wiser when everything (including time delays and possible extra costs for you) is taken into account. Try to make life easy for yourself.
