I like property

Hi all

I'm new to the buy to let arena, and have recently let my property (7th January).  The first month's rent has been paid into a holding deposit account.

Please can someone point me in the right direction about registering with HMRC as I've had a good look online and it's becoming quite confusing with the amount of information I've found!  If someone could explain it in simple terms for me, I'd be very grateful.

You can phone them up or just google self employment or search within the HMRC website under self assessment or employment.
Just in case, you mention a deposit account, is that an approved scheme, have you given all the correct paperwork including the correct Ts&Cs within the 30 days time frame etc?
