Hi
We have finally been granted a possession order!
The tenant should be vacating in March but have been advised we should write to the tenant in advance to confirm we will be entering the property on x date as per the possession order. This supposedly allows them to reply stating they will not be leaving and not to enter (we don't expect them to leave without going through an eviction).
Is there a template letter for this type of thing?

Who on earth advised you to do that?

The possession order doesn't itself end the tenancy, so you have no right to just enter. You need to get a warrant of possession next and bailiffs to enforce it. In most areas this will take a fair bit more time at the moment.
