Tenant in battered wives home and her mother has handed me back the keys but the perpetrator (known scumbag) now occupies my house with druggie mate and dog.  I'm tempted to backdate a section 21 to secure earlier possession as I can't see him contesting it.... but what would happen if I then got possession legally and moved on (relet or sold house) and someone later contested the notice period

Is "druggie hubby" on the tenancy agreement?  If not, he has no right of occupation and you can evict at will.

If he is on the tenancy, I'd be tempted to do it "by the book" if you think you can't persuade him to leave.  If he goes to local council or a housing charity for help and they spot the deception, you'll have st start all over again.
