Since the November publishing of the new RRA guides, we have been working on a product for those landlord who are less keen to have a pet imposed upon them.

Having looked a various iterations we have, we believe, created something that takes the uncertainty out of 'fair reason*'. Given there are no real guidelines to what may be deemed acceptable. The only sure fire ground for refusal as it stands is if you have a headlease the does not permit pets.

This would in effect act as your backstop in place to prevent you having to allow tenants to keep pets if you felt that it was not suitable for your property. For it to be effective you would need to have it in place prior to any pet request coming forward, a post request purchase we feel may not be deemed acceptable.

I am keen to understand if this is something that is of interest to the landlords here. The price point would be circa £100 per annum.

Appreciate any feedback.
