Just taken on a new tenant who hasnt even made the first payment. I find out now that her father, who is also the guarantor is in hospital having both his legs amputated. He is very ill and he is 90 years old. Its all very sad but I have a mortgage to pay. How to I get money from a guarantor who is in hospital? Obviously I do not. The tenant is distraught as he is potentially on his death bed and doesnt seem to think paying rent is too big an issue. What if he dies? What if I no longer have a gurantor and she cant pay? He was well enough to sign the paperwork! I am not heartless but I am on the breadline and struggling to stay afloat. What would you do?
