Tenants and excess water in bathroom

My tenants have created so much damp in my bathroom through use of a home made bidet ( now removed) and not heating or ventilating the bathroom sufficiently . The walls and floor are continuously damp and lots of mould on the walls. Ive had a quote of £3600 to put right. They have a fixed term contract. Is it sufficient grounds to ask them to leave?  I will use their deposit but only £900 so I will be considerably out of pocket. Should I try to claim the costs through the small claims court or just put this down to bad experience?

You can ask them to leave. You can even serve notice. But if they refuse to leave, you're no further forward.

You could tell them that they've done nearly four grand of damage so far, which you'll recover from them now unless they either get the problem sorted themselves or pay a good chunk of the bill themselves. There's no reason to wait or to use the deposit.

I'm more curious about the home-made bidet.

It's been removed... so it looks like a chat has worked on some level, can't a chat work for ventilation / heating too, basically - how to live successfully in the property? With any issues relating to water (leaks, damp)... resolve the problem first, then wait. I have found property is quite resilient. The mould can be addressed with bleach. Everyone will be happier.

We have had some good banter on here in the past on the subject of bidets. I could do with a laugh, so I am going to see what Amazon has to offer.
