Hi All,
      This is our first time as Landlords, so forgive us for being a bit dumb!.
Our Tenant was on a yearly contract, but when access  became an issue due to the dog always being around, there were small jobs we wanted completing before renewing the tenancy as was. The Estate Agent put the Tenant on a month by month contract, which has been fine.
Our question is; How much notice do we have to give the Tenant; 2mnths or 6mnths?. We note that the government may remove the 6mnth notice, at the end of May/ or not.?.

Currently a minimum of six months' notice. It's due for review at the end of May but I wouldn't get your hopes up about it dropping back to two months overnight.

I am therefore thinking that if the government still allow the 6mnths to continue at the end of May, That it would be a bad idea to try to advertise to sell a property November onwards. ? Such a shame as we could miss out on potential buyers with the benefit of no Stamp Duty up to September.
