I have a flat which was fire damaged (fire started  in flat above) 6 months ago. The tenants had to move out.
Since then the flat has been uninhabitable.
The utilities company have placed me on a deemed contract.
Am I legally obliged to pay a standing charge £5/month for an uninhabitable flat.
I think it unlikely the banks when repossessing houses will be paying utility standing charges...there must be a way round this?
Thanks for any help.

Presumably you are insured, claim it.

It doesn't seem very important to me at all.

Speak to the supplier rather than a forum?

Charge them £5/month for storing their meter in your flat.
