Hello there,

We have just started our ownfamily run business dealing with the preperation of propertys for rent or sale and we are looking for new ways to contact landlords directly rather than having to go through the agents. Any suggestions/tips/ideas?

Many thanks in advance

You'll probably need to buy the information or slowly build a list through a website. I don't think there is a national list of landlords with their details.

I think propertyfaq is correct - buy a database or build your own. Buying a database is very expensive, plus I think the success rate is about 2%, so I'd think carefully before committing any money to this.

Hello Carrie-Ann

Just wondering: Why do you want to avoid the agents?  It looks like using your service will make a property sell / let sooner.  Both sales and letting agents tend to work for fixed fees.  So a "non-mover" not only reduces profit but also defers their cashflow.

I think you've got quite a strong USP to an agent to get them to use you when they have a property which they know has all the signs of being a non-mover, with the agent persuading the owner to use your services to get the sale / rent they promptly need.

And from agents, you'll get into the virtious circle of repeat business.  Most sellers only transact once every few years.  Most landlords own only one or two properties.  Agents handle hunderds.

Best wishes with your business.
