I seem to have hit a minefield in that i didn't take a deposit.I had previously used a type of housing association, after two years of successful tenancy decided to take on the letting myself. But it seems as if not taking a deposit is going to cause a major problem when evicting tenant.Has anyone more information.

I know that failure to protect a deposit will be a problem when evicting, but I am not clear why you are in a fix. What are the grounds for evicting, and how did you go about taking over from the charity/HA -did they take deposits from tenants? More background please.

Pretty sure that as long as you haven't taken a deposit you are fine to evict.

If money was owed then you could have taken this from the deposit so from the info we have it seems you might have a bit of trouble recovering any money owed but not with evicting.

Explain your thinking... because what you're stating doesn't make sense.
