There is a new government petition launched recently. It is asking for the re-introduction of tax relief on mortgage interest for landlords and the scrapping of the 3% stamp duty.
It will require 100,000 signatures before it can be debated in parliament. I urge any BTL landlord to sign this.  The link is  https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/219279

There is still tax relief on mortgage interest... it remains an allowable expense.
