Hi All,
my gas safety certificate was due to expire on 7/02 and as per every year I booked an appointment with a local company to have it renewed. The engineer went on the 2/02 got everything checked and confirmed everything was 'perfectly fine'. Once he finished I asked to get the certificate (I used to get it from the engineer in the past) but I was told that I would have received it in few days from the company.
I waited for some days and since nothing was sent to me I contacted the company.
First email got ignored.
I called them a couple of days afterward and I was told that the certificate had already been sent to me. They cross-checked my email address and told me that another copy would have been sent immediately after the call. Nothing
I called them again the following day but this time I was told that the certificate was only on paper and I would have received it only the following day since they had to scan it first. Again nothing received.
Third call.... this time there was a different problem. Apparently the engineer did not give them the papers and they were unable to issue the certificate. They reassured me they would have spoken with the engineer in the evening once back in the office and prepared the certificate for the following day.
Now, after more than 10 days I am in a very uncomfortable position. The old cp12 is expired, I have already paid in full for the new one but I can't get it. I
In addition to the above I am also changing the tenant and I need to show the updated certificate to the new tenant shortly.
Any suggestion? I may need to get another check undertaken (by a different company) but this will require some time and I need to provide the new certificate by this friday to finalise the new tenancy agreement + I will have to pay for the certificate again.

Get a new one done. Make sure you have a copy on the day this time, and certainly before you pay. Do not let new tenant occupy until after you have given a valid copy of the certificate to them (and can evidence it).
