Hi    First time on here,  Just had a new tenant move into a furnished let, two up two down cottage.
Received first statement from agent, to discover an £80 cleaning fee paid in cash to the tenant!
the cottage was clean and didn't take 8 hours to clean.
Can the agent use money from rent in this way? Without my permission.
