Hi

I am taking over the management of my property from the agent and wish to keep the tenants on the same terms as the existing contract, including moving onto a periodic tenancy at the end of the initial fixed term.  Are there any major issues either for the tenant or myself in taking this approach? And can anyone provide me with advice on how this can be done contractually? Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.  Yes, there are potentially issues in that the law may well have changed since your tenancy was drafted -- the Tenant Fees Act 2019 came into force in June this year and many pre-existing tenancies don't comply.  I would recommend drafting a fresh tenancy agreement.  If you have a solicitor get them to draft it -- if not, the government publishes a model tenancy agreement at this link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/model-agreement-for-a-shorthold-assured-tenancy
