What % is your mortgage rate?
Have you had any difficulties with your lender?
Is it a fixed, tracker, variable..etc policy?

Does your finance adviser act as an accountant? And how is his pay structure worked out- hourly rate? Yearly rate? I think i want a financail advisor!

I have one with Northern Rock and Birmingham Midshire!

I have two accountants, one for tax etc the other is a business accountant, if you don't listen to them you are screwed.
I also have a financial advisor who is totally different to the others as she acts in my best interest at all times, she covers life insurance and other insurance, loans, mortgages etc and other money structures, Then on top of that I have a business bank manager, who is also shit hot in what she does.
Hope that helps, oh as for how much, you had best ask one of the above.  The business accountant costs me 100pm the others are normal hourly rate for the jobs they do.

Oooh, I want to know a lot. I want to open your mind up and have mind-sex with you right know lol

I'm interested to hear more about your tax accountant and your financial advisor. What do they do exactly? How do they benefit you?..etc! I want to know everything!

I like the idea of getting a financial advisor, but I want to know more details- so i can determine whether it's worth getting one!

Thank you, hunny-bun!

Bud go for it get an advisor, go with a brief that is precise and clear of what you want them to do, lets face it you want to save money that's why we have them.  But also know they will also get a wage from you out of whatever they come up with.  This is fine and shouldn't put you off, knowing this helps your brief. Also knowing that you will be trading with them means * business*
Business is the oldest trade known to man and is very knowledgeable and very well oiled and to be honest runs its self, all it needs from you is your input, the right plan and I am sure you can do business with your finance adviser without feeling odd about it.  Your advisor should find whatever is best for you and save you money in the process; they will need commitment from you.
Find an advisor who is freelance, why, they will work harder for you to make their own gain! * Security* and I find the male female scenario works well,
You will have to give all your money details to them from bank accounts to life policies and wills etc, if you don't mind this and them knowing your life stile then that's cool, ok you can hold that little account back from them!
The first session should be free, from this you can gage an opinion if they are right, shoes mate shoes, have a look at there shoes, get a profile on them, do they have a family and other jobs etc do they go on holiday if so where, this may help to understand why they are round your house at 9pm at night!
One guy told me once, he had successful restaurants dotted around the place, and places overseas, he had a small family that meant the world to him etc, I asked what the hell he was doing in my house at 10pm trying very hard to sell me a policy that meant he would only gain only 12 a month, it didn't add up and he was desperate,
If you find the right one he/she should be able to put you onto a tax person, they work hand in hand,
Go for it. You may only need them once twice a year, but if you get a good one they will bend over backwards for you.  Lets face they know what you earn and from this also know if you are a valuable customer to them lol
