Hi

I would very much appreciate any advice on solicitors fees for re-mortgaging my ltd co. BTL - the solicitors I used for the original purchase are now not dealing with ltd company legals....  I am using, for the first time a BTL specialist broker, aptly named THE BUY TO LET BROKERS  ;D who recommended solicitor O'Neill Patient,, who originally quoted £550 +vat, pretty standard so I agreed and they took £95 then had an email from TBTL Brokers saying " we have been advised that as the instruction is under a limited company they would need to charge additional fees, which could not be shown on their standard quote.  This would increase their fee by a further £950 - £1,250 plus VAT and disbursements."  Ive just looked for a red fuming face icon but cant find one  - so just know my face is rather red and fuming at the moment!  - would anyone have used a solicitors for a ltd co. BTL re-mortgage recently?  does this sound right?

thanks

Hello.

Yes that's about right, I paid around that this month on my first in the Ltd company.

Some solicitors wanted almost 4k because it was a ltd company.

They make it up as they go along...

Hello,

You can get some advice from Saving Energy Group on this: http://www.savingenergygroup.org/services/free-boiler-grants. They are really good.

Best wishes,
