Hi!
I moved out of my property on 30th June 2020.  Due to the coronavirus outbreak, my landlords (who live quite far away from the property) informed me that there would be a delay in the end of tenancy inspection and thus a delay in my deposit return.
The last I heard from them was 22nd July, where they asked for pictures of the flat that I had taken before I left and information on utilities providers (for the incoming tenant).
I have since emailed twice for information regarding my deposit with no reply.
What are my rights in this situation? If they were to email me back with deductions at this point- would it even be viable? Surely they can not deduct from my deposit after 2 months?? And what can I do if they do not email back at all?
(Please note, my deposit is protected by DPS)
Thanks

Inspector

Give them a date to propose deductions, say a week, then if you hear nothing raise a deposit dispute.

It is still very easy for a landlord or agent to get an inventory clerk to carry out a check out even in these times.  It is not a valid excuse.
