LostTenant

Hi, I am in desperate need of a bit of advice. . .
Here's the story. I have lived in the same rented house for three years and been a good tenant (it is a multi occupancy property)
During the summer our landlords sold the house they had no communication with us about this and didn't notify us when it had been sold.
Then about 3 weeks back we had a note posted through the door from our new landlord about getting septembers rent ( I haven't paid him as he has provided no official papper work or contracts for us) He now has builders in the house renovating a room at a time making our life difficult. We got in touch with Leeds council to get advice and they told us our previous contracts (due to end in december) are now null and void. The new landlord is still chasing me for rent but I no longer want to stay there as the building work is too disruptive and I don't trust the guy. I have a new house lined up. Would I be alright to just move out?
I know that was a long one but Thanks for reading hope someone can help.

If you were told your previous contract was null and void, and you don't have a contact with this new landlord then you are free to move whenever you want..

I'm normally on the landlords side but as this one doesn't to have appeared to do anything you expect a new LL to have done I'd say drop them in it and vacate at your leisure.
