Hello Everyone,

I was in a joint tenancy agreement where I had to find a replacement in order to leave it. It was a joint tenancy agreement which original 12 months had already expired and it had become monthly.

After many months with issues with the agency, we have finally signed the Addendum where it is written that the replacement tenant will have to refund my deposit to me.

She is saying that she doesn't want to return the sum in full because of all she has gone through.

If she really does that, what are my rights?

Thanks,

Miki

Oh Miki, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind, hey Miki, hey Miki... you would think you are still named in the Deposit Scheme where the Deposit was always protected? Could that be the case here? If you've just signed some kind of Addendum with the Agent, then maybe nothing was formally updated with the Scheme re. Tenant names... if so, this Tenant doesn't have a leg to stand on - they won't send money to her as they know nothing about her... if the Deposit is protected in an Insured Scheme by the Agent, then the Agent physically has the money themselves... and, as you signed their Addendum, there should be no argument about where it goes.

Please advise...

I am not sure what you mean,is she saying she will not pay a deposit of any kind? What does she mean by all she has gone through? On the face of it surely it's a case of pay the deposit,or not be allowed to move in.
Hippo, great song and video, often play it while working out.She is now in her 70's,still dancing and looking great.
