hello
im in the process of renting a new house but I've noticed that some lights don't work (bulbs needs changing). I totally understand that during my tenancy I am responsible for changing those, but surely before renting the place, they all should be in working order? Should I ask the agency to have them changed before signing the contract?

Yes,you you should start out with bulbs all working,batteries in alarms etc.The agent should have sorted this when checking the place over prior to reletting.
