I have a Staturory periodic tenancy and my landlord has issued me with a section 21 notice. I'm looking at new places to rent but I was wondering I had to serve notice to my landlord.

I know that a tenancy can only be ended by the tenant or a court and that a section 21 doesn't actually end the tenancy. My landlord is a bit of a slippery weasel so I'm happy to move on but I wouldn't put him past him to keep charging me rent if I don't give notice even though he's issued a section 21 if you know what I mean.

Can anyone clarify that for me?

I would as a matter of completeness, reply in writing to the section 21. Stating the dates clearly when you will vacate and the contract will end.

I wouldn't worry though.
