Hi everyone, I'm a British citizen currently living in the Philippines. I have been travelling around S. E. Asia for about 12 years now returning to the UK every 3 to 6 months. To support myself I have been tutoring (privately) basic English language to the locals, I also have a guaranteed UK income of 1030 pounds per month. I plan on returning to the UK permanently before the end of the year with my wife (filipino) and 3 year old son. I will need to rent a 2 bedroom flat in the Blackpool area, my problem is that I have no one that I could ask to be a guarantor and I have a not to bright credit history. I have NEVER failed to pay my rent or utilities bills in any accommodation that I have rented in the UK or overseas. Therefore is there ANYONE here that could advise me what  I could offer a potential landlord as security to allow me to rent his/her property?
Many thanks in advance!

Shane - you could offer to pay for rent payment insurance for the landlord, then if you were to mess up on payments the landlord would still be covered. An idea...
