Good morning to all
,
I'll start by saying that I'm writing on behalf of someone else, someone who undoubtedly has fallen on hard times in all ways, physically, mentally and emotionally, however IMO still remains a decent person. He must be getting on for 60.

I first met this person a few years ago as he lived opposite a house that I'd just bought as an investment, and being a builder, he helped me do some work. Married 2 kids and a dog and they kept a lovely clean home.

He now looks as if he's dying as he has had substantial health issues , separated from his wife, and is living in shared accommodation, but still in the vicinity so he's ex wife and kids can still see him on a regular basis - the family relationship appears to be good.

He has lately expressed real concerns about the filth where he lives and that the amenities do not always work as they should. There has also been problems with one of the other tenants and his girlfriend  due to their weekend drinking which inevitably, according to him, ends up with them having a domestic, so much so that my acquaintance has had to call the police.

Being, it appears, the only person living there  able to communicate, he has tried to sort out many times all the issues either via the agent and/or with the owner.
nothing seems to have been done and he has been issued with a Sec 8.

So my concern is this, assuming of course that the information  that he has given me is correct, that is, there are no arrears or anti social behaviour on his behalf, nor  that the landlord doesn't intend to evict everyone as they need the property. Will a section 8 hold up?

There are 17 grounds on which a Section 8 can be served.
Which ground(s) have been specified in the notice?

My apologies for replying to you so late.
It appears that the very nice chappy has a drink problem, hence the split from his wife, no work, and ill health.
It came out in conversation that since living there he's been arrested twice due to arguments with other tenants.
I'm sorry for wasting your time.
