Opinion? Some Tenants end tenancies and have no deductions whatsoever, some think they would be like that... but aren't. Cleaning is a subjective thing, you see? People can say they've cleaned it to a very good standard, just like you have, but that's your own standard... it's not an objective standard (because one doesn't - cannot ever - exist). So the initial charges looked quite modest, to be fair, they weren't £100 for this, £150 for that... they were £15, £10 etc.. If you wanted an easy life you would have accepted. If you wanted a good old scrap, you wouldn't. That's about the size of it.

Now you've probably wasted more time and effort than the original amount was over worth to you, or the Landlord... by going back-and-forth. The whole idea of agreeing Deposit deductions is exactly that - it all works best when both parties can be pragmatic, reasonable and just move on, it's time to groove on... if you do not, why get into a back-and-forth? Just disagree and raise a Dispute with the Deposit Protection Scheme (which one assumes is where your Deposit is).

That will have a few potential outcomes... the Landlord will cave in because it's too much hassle, the Landlord will revise upwards and double-down on their claims or you'll go through the entire process and an objective third party will make a ruling you're both expected to be bound by.

Do that. Don't do what you're doing, whatever that is...

Sometimes you wish you'd learn to quote snowflakes, so they can't run away from their own words later... can sense them a mile off.

Deleted for other reasons than being snowflake boo. The person I'm on about uses this forum.
