Landlord isn't replacing front door

Me and my dad started renting this property about 8 years ago, for the past few years we the front door has started to bend out of shape, cracks have started to appear (which lets in alot of cold air) and on top of that it doesn't lock. The porch door also doesn't lock. Around May 2018 my dad moved out and I become the main tenant. So me and my daughter live alone with a front door that doesn't lock and looks a complete mess. A few door sales people have showed up at the door, obviously targeting our house
Anyway, my landlord is not replacing the front door. He keeps making excuses. The first text I sent to him about it was August, he said "he's looking for someone to do it". I heard nothing. I then sent him a message in December, he said he'd broke up with his wife and was telling me a sob story. He said he'd get it done during or after Christmas, he didn't. So I text him again on the 2nd February rhe weekend just gone and he was selling a sob story again and said he'd come around this weekend to see what he needs to buy for it. He never came.
Its really annoying me, not only is it dangerous but its completely embarrassing to look at! I really don't know what to do, its really getting me down. He clearly has money and if this was his front door he would have had it replaced already.
Any suggestions? :'(

Follow this well, don't just start to withhold rent or move straight to deducting money from the rent.

This is - obviously - supposition. Why does he clearly have money, and - more importantly - how is that relevant at all? A repairing obligation is a repairing obligation regardless of whether the Landlord has money. How do you know he would have already replaced it himself if it was his door? Have you seen where he lives? Has it got a well-operating door... it might surprise you to find out his door is in an even worse state than yours... but, again, how is that relevant at all? It's just not. I hope you see.
