Thinking I did something illegal?

Basically, SGN ripped out the meter because it wasn't legit or safe. As we share the gas with the downstairs flat, the neighbours were upset. The landlord shouted at my partner down the phone saying we did something illegal by calling SGN and now we've been painted as trouble makers.

We told the landlord about SGN coming to inspect the gas as no gas company recognised our details/meter.

Please advise.

No he can't. Which deposit protection scheme is the deposit protected by?
