If this is really one property then you have a live-in Landlord and you don't really have a Tenancy as you think, instead you are a Lodger.

Thanks for replying. After some research, I think I have an "Excluded tenancies or licences" (https://www.gov.uk/private-renting-tenancy-agreements/tenancy-types). And it is not even a written one...

Unfortunately, I don't have much protection from evictions according to "Rules for excluded tenancies or licences" (https://www.gov.uk/private-renting-evictions).

I am finding a new place. But until I successfully find one, what in my mind is only trying to mislead them using the "Rules for periodic Assured Shorthold Tenancies (ASTs)" and the COVID-19 notice periods (which are not applied in my case, but I guess they don't know it yet).

May I ask if there are any other suggestions? Any advice is very much appreciated. Thanks
