I signed a contract for a three year period although after six months the property is not longer suitable for my disabled husband with MS which has rapidly worsened there are four steps to the toilet/shower and he has fallen on a few occasions hospitalisd on one, the agents wanted three months notice which we have done and a sum of £23,000!! ouch which we do not have. I feel that the agents have made the whole experience of being in the property a nightmare, we have not had a shower for 6 months (broken), no lights in our outside stable block for 6 months, raised block paving, we had a cistern break which a plumber did a tempory repair that broke and the toilet backed up and leaked we had excrament coming through the kitchen ceiling which I cleared up although the ceiling surely should be re palstered and painted also the bathroom flooring repaired! one of the staff flats had such bad mould it was inhabitable then a pipe burst and the whold flat flooded I have not had to pay rent on that for 3 months although dont feel I should have paid for the first months as it was noted in the inventory that there were mould spores growing on the walls. Now the agent has visited the property and walked around my fields with the horses in and my gardens and my yards with only 30 mins warning on 2 occassions, surley they must be in breach of contract there are many more issues although I dont want to bore you any advice would be good thanks I would just love to get out now though I have not got £23k thank you all the above repairs have all been sent via Email and I have copies of everything requesting urgent repair

Hi Scoobydoo,

The only thing I can think of is if you can get someone to move in and take over your tenancy, maybe then the agent would release you from the contract.
