I have lived in my apartment for 1 year.  The completion of my lease.
I have requested several repairs since move in.  The three most relevant are:

1. Roaches, infested throuout the entire apartment.  They have sprayed my apartment on four different occasions with no improvement.

2. The ignitor for my gas oven does not work.  I have to wait for the gas to start then light it manually.  This has singed my arm hairs on numerous occasions.  Also when the temp in the oven reaches the desired temperature the gas shuts off.  But when the temperature drops it then starts to release gas again and I have to lite it again but the gas leaks out until I check on it.  I have turned the oven on and forgotten to light it once the gas starts being release and at some point it will ignite but it is a loud boom upon ignition.

3.  The safety railing on the stairwell is no longer connected to the step.  I have slipped and fallen twice, the second time I hurt my back and have severe pain in my lower back since that fall.

I have continually written letters and complained in person.  But nothing is ever done.

I want to sue the landlord but I don't know who exactly to sue (the property management company, the owner, or the complex itself).

I also want to know what damages I can sue for.

In england you find out who owns the property take pictures and get medical records and sue them with a solicitor.

For the oven the landlord - he's fault

for safety on the stairwell it would be the property management company or complex the company who is ment to maintain everything else outside your door

As for roaches if its due to conditions of another apartment it would be the owner of another apartment. Varies where they came from and why

If the letting agent leased this apartment out in these conditions they could be liable too
