Received a "feel free to go early" notice - can I really?

Hi everyone,

I have a 12 month fixed term contract (started 1st of April, 2015) with a 6 month tenancy-only break clause. To cut the story short - landlady wants me out, and cause she has been acting dodgy and untrustworthy, I want to go. She issued me last week with this beautiful notice:

"Dear Charlotte,

In accordance with your tenancy agreement and the break clause, I would like to issue you with notice to move at the end of your six months which will be 30th September 2015.

If you would like to leave before that date I am happy for you to do so.

Please let me know.

Regards."

Does this mean I could just pack my bags and go whenever? I would have had to give a 2 month notice if I would have used the tenant-only break clause (so on the 31st of July). Do I still need to give a decent time notice, or does it suffice if I notify her today that I will move out on the 31st of July?

Would be great if you had some insight. I also read somewhere that she can't just take giving me notice back, I'd have to agree to her taking the notice back. Is that actually true?

Thanks everyone for your help!

Charlotte

Nope.

This means what it says, he would like the house, you can move out, the earlier the better.

Dont worry, just speak to him knowing that you dont HAVE to move until end of September

Riptide

A tenancy an be ended by mutual consent with disregard to any notice periods.
