Hi wondered if anyone could help. When renting a property that states no DSS does this include child tax/working tax credits. I earn over the threshold they are asking for and in addition as a single parent claim tax credits, but was wondering if this would affect my application?

I believe it usually means no LHA... so that the rent is paid (in arrears) by the Council. However, different Landlords may have their own ideas, of course, so it's really a suck-it-and-see thing. However... if you are not in receipt of LHA then I am not sure it is a requirement of you to be completely open about what, if any, other benefits you might receive. Honesty is always the best policy, but make sure what you do and don't receive is understood... not misunderstood.

Thank you very much for your response. They are asking for bank statements and would see on these they i am claiming tax credits.

It will be fine.

Most people with kids get some benefit anyway. Even if its just Child benefit.
