So Many Issues

Since taking on my flat just before Christmas, I have had so many issues, from not having hot water for weeks and washing up using the electric shower, to an unusable bath because the hot water, which I requested the thermostat to be turned up, doesn't produce enough hot water for a bath, to the entire place being grubby, to being damp (I've drawn a whole dehumidifier of water out in 5 days and that's never happened to me anywhere else, now I have another problem. The GCH was ripped out and electric heaters put in in the same place, so the curtains hang over them. Massive fire hazard. I use weights to keep them on the window sill, but not ideal. One of the sockets for the heaters gets hot during the evening too. Can I organise a fire inspection?

Were you given a copy of the electrical safety certificate when you moved in?  From what you say I would most certainly contact your local fire officer,  and keep that one socket turned off in the meantime. It is not clear from your post whether you have been complaining about these problems to the agent/ landlord, and if so what has been the response so far?

There is an EICR from 092020 which is still in date, but as the GCH system has been removed and new electric heaters installed, not hardwired, surely there should have been a new certificate? Can I organise a fire inspection or does it need to be LL?
I appreciate your help, I couldn't find my post again for a while.

I also came home yesterday to find my parking space entirely filled with rubbish from my LL as they have bought the flat next to mine. I complained and got a stupid response.
How can I warn other prospective tenants not to come here?

If they are portable plug- in heaters I don' t think this would affect the EICR. Such appliances have to be checked annually, which is a different certificate. I am still not clear if you have told the landlord that a socket is hot?  That must be your first step. If he ignores that then you could report it to the council or fire officer.

You  really should not get involved in warning off prospective tenants, that will just up the ante and could backfire on you.

Is the property landlord or agent managed?  Personally I would be asking if the contract can be cancelled by mutual consent, deposit returned and move on.
