I think my estate agents have gone out of business , I owe some rent which they wanted 2 months ago but haven't heard from them .. I was also meant to have workmen round .. I've tried to call them, the number now is some women's house number :/ i drove past the agents office and it was shut. As of next month the rent I pay should go up, the other half payed by housing benefit , what do I do :/

Think?  Certain more like.  Your contract is with your landlord, so the landlord is still due the rent money.  Stop your own Direct Debits and contact the Council to pause payments.  Contact your landlord directly (you'll have his address from your Section 48 notice) to say you've suspended payment because the letting agent has closed down and you want to make arrangements to pay him directly.
