Good evening ,

I am looking for an advice on a unlikely situation that happened to me on the 14th of Feb.

I was living in a flat in West Kensigton and on that day, while I was off the flat for 4 hours, the flat got severely flooded.
Dirty water leaked from the flat upstairs and damaged most of my goods and made the flat not healthy and unlivable.

On that day I had to wrap up all my stuff and move to the closest hotel for the time being.
I asked the Landlord to terminate the contract as soon as possible( and I got the contract terminated by the 28th of Feb) and to refund the hotel bill and the laundry bills.
Hotel bills for 14 days were roughly 1300£ plus 200£ of laundry bills.

As said before the landlord (after many many days and a lot of effort ) accepted to terminate the contract by the end of Feb but he is now pushing back my request to get the bills refunded finding each week a different excuse ( the insurance of the building has not got  back to him .. the management company bla bla bla) ..

Can you help me to understand what are my rights now? How can I get the money of the hotel and laundry bills back ?

What can I do at this stage?

Thank you very much

Nicola
