I love the idea of this; people on low or no income have to put in a set amount of hours per week to the project.  There is no or very little outside help and you learn the trades and specialise in them.

So the idea is to get a group of people who need better accommodation, for whatever reasons.  The housing association funds the project and the team help each other to build their homes.  At the end the homeowner gets a share called sweat equity, this is usually 15% with an option to buy more over a period of time.
So they get on the property ladder and learn skills along the way.
Any thoughts on this topic people.

I know schemes like that are quite common in the States. It's a wicked concept!! The government should try and encourage schemes like that- you don't really hear much about it.

The ones i have seen are built the same as the USA,  Concrete base, lined, timber outline, timber cut to size walls, floors and roof, brick built around, very nice and easy to put up, even you could do that faggy poos

Fantastic concept, I am sure some tree hugger will complain about it being an infringement of civil rights expecting people to contribute blah blah, if it does take off over here I bet there will be load sof people keen to  use the opportunity, and if their Polish then they will be built well and quickly ;D

I think they need to work on the buildings being a bit more bespoke, as they seem to build in groups and they all look the same and social housingish, if you dig my drift.

I think its excellent. If they add in some reading lessons it'll help the thousands of teenagers leaving our schools each year unable to read, thanks to our screwed up education policy.

In the global economy, they're gonna need all the help they can get.
